This is a written one and a half hour exam taken online. The Associate Exam can now be taken at a location of your choosing with no need to travel to an examination hall. You will require a computer with a video camera and internet connection. Please allow thirty minutes before the exam starts to follow joining instructions which will be provided to you after booking.
Members are required to have passed their Level 2 Foundation Exam in order to take their Level 3 Associate Exam.
Passing this exam permits members to use the letters AIRPM after their name for the first time.
The Level 3 Associate exam is the second stage on the route to full IRPM qualification for leasehold management professionals.
Successful candidates who pass the exam will be automatically invited to upgrade to the Associate membership level, which allows the AIRPM designation. Members can then progress in their studies and book their place for the level 4 MIRPM Member exam.
Not an IRPM member? Candidates who are not already members of IRPM will need to join, to benefit their studies from IRPM’s essential bulletins, Technical Updates, IRPM LinkedIn Member Forum and Resource Hub and to agree to the IRPM Code of Conduct that sets professional standards for property professionals and employers.
This is a self-study qualification and candidates are required to pass the final exam. Exams take place twice a year (spring & autumn). The examination time is 1 hour and 30 minutes and the pass mark is 60%.
The exam consists of two sections – Part A and Part B
Part A contains 20 short answer questions and candidates are required to answer all the questions. Two marks are awarded for each question and a maximum of 40 marks are awarded for this part of the paper.
Part B contains 8 questions in four sections. Candidates are required to answer three questions of their choice. Each question carries 20 marks and maximum 60 marks are awarded for this part of the paper.
For the time being at least, the exam is ‘remotely proctored’, so there is no need to travel to a venue to sit the exam. Instead, candidates will be supervised by an invigilator online. All candidates will be provided with specific instructions and have the opportunity to test the exam system prior the exam.
The exam will focus on the following syllabus units:
